Life is busy and you have a lot of responsibilities. You may be responsible for meeting the needs of your kids, pets, family, friends or your boss or colleagues.

I invite you to pause for 11 minutes each day and realize that you are a huge part of the equation and your needs matter. I designed this brief meditation to help you become familiar with checking in with your needs.

Checking-in doesn’t mean that your needs will be satisfied right then and there. But in the lack of a quality listening from someone else, it becomes your responsibility to listen to yourself. Ask the tender questions of ‘what do I need today?’, ‘what does my inner child need?’ ‘what do my ancestors who continue to live in my blood and have lended me their patterns need?’

I invite you to open a window into your body and to your psyche and really listen in.

And if it is one of those days that your needs have to come last, you can place a hand on your heart and say to yourself ‘I am here for you, even if I can’t get to meeting all my needs right here and right now, I will care for myself’.

Your body is listening and wanting to be heard.

Your inner child is listening and longing to be heard.

Your ancestors are listening and waiting to be heard.

I hope you get to take 11 minutes today and everyday to listen and write down a single need and a single action item to meet that need with or without help. I hope that you can schedule the time to tend to that need.

Because that need is so important. You are so important.
